TUTORIAL: ROSETTONS TO DECORATE YOUR EVENTS
You can tell that summer has arrived and we can't stop thinking and organizing parties and events!!
It will be the good weather, the proximity of the holidays,..., the truth is that, as manual craft lovers that we are, we love to prepare this type of things!!!
This time it's for a little one's welcome party, and since we loved how the rosettes we prepared for decoration turned out, we thought we'd make a tutorial so you can use them at your parties.
We begin by making the rose window , and for this we need 4 x 30.5 cm strips of decorated paper or cardboard.
This time we used scraps from the Amy Tangerine Sunshine and Good Times collection and mint cardboard.
With the help of a folding table and folder, we are marking the entire length of the strip at half an inch.
If you do not have it, you can mark the folds with the help of a ruler
The first fold is marked by the "right" of the paper...
... for the next one we turn the paper over and mark the fold ...
... we repeat this operation along the entire length of the strip.
It can be tedious to have to turn the paper at each mark, but in this way we achieve a rosette with almost perfect folds.
Once everything is marked, we fold it as if it were an accordion and it would look something like this...
We now join the two ends of the strip in such a way that it follows the continuity of the accordion. For greater security and that the ends do not come unstuck, the ideal is to assemble some folds with others ... in the following photo you can see how it would be ...
We glue and we prepare to make the rose window. With the help of our hands and a little patience (yes, at first it can be a bit difficult) we join one side of the remaining circle and little by little we "crush" it until we get the shape.
Once we have it, with the hot glue gun we glue it in the middle so that it remains in that shape and does not fall apart.
You can also put some weight on it so that it takes shape while you prepare other things.
To reinforce it a little more, we are going to glue two circles on both parts, and for this we have used our 2.5" circle die-cutters for the front part and 1-3/4 "for the back part.
Now comes the fun part of decorating them, and for this we have used stickers from the collection and some lace from Doodlebug Design that couldn't have a more beautiful range of colors!!!
And finally, we glued a skewer stick to the back with washi tape... et voilá!
Once you know the process of how to make the rosette, you can make them with some variations ... like this one in which we have die-cut one of the edges with the Cross Star edge die-cutter
Don't you think it looks ideal? The die-cutting makes a very nice and fun effect.
You can place your rosettes in a vase as we did to decorate our sweet table, but you can also make a garland with them, or as a decoration in the packaging of a gift.
They are very colorful and I am sure that wherever you decide to put them they will look great!!!
