Una Fiesta de Verano

a summer party

Today we show you that with a little skill and the right materials, you too can prepare a totally spectacular DIY party!

In the first place, as in any self-respecting party , there must be a cake . It can be bought or if you are a good pastry chef, dare with it. With a couple of tricks like this, your cake will look impressive and it will seem like it was made by the best pastry chef in your city. Minimum effort and magnificent result, but that will be your secret… ;-)

You can make the wrappers for your muffins or cupcakes with the DIY Party Board , lately we use it for everything. In this case, with a pineapple design, a paper by Vicki Boutin has been used to make the capsule and to make the leaf-shaped toppers, this paper by Amy Tangerine can be cut with scissors. If you don't have tools, you can also do it with a template and using the scissors to cut each element.

To decorate the cake, some stickers in the shape of palm trees have been used, glued on a white cardboard cut out. You can make them perfectly with any green and brown paper with scissors. Make a template if you want them to come out identical. And to create the banner or garland , the donut alphabet has been used with the word "party", tied to some ropes between the trees. Attach the rope to the palm trees with a bead of hot glue using the glue gun. And list! A very summery cake!

Another way to personalize your themed party table is to create your own patterned paper plates! For this summery theme, they've made some origami paper boats and bucket and spade popcorn! To create the origami boats, use double-sided patterned paper from any summer collection. If you have children this can be a great activity for their free time this summer! To create the sails, stick a wooden skewer in the center of the boat and with washi tape folded over a thread and cut in the shape of a pennant.

Making personalized toppers for the straws so that no guest gets the cup wrong is very simple and they also look very pretty! To make it you just have to glue a few pieces of the summer-themed cutouts onto pink striped paper straws . Use glass milk bottles for a vintage touch.

Making buckets and shovels with paper popcorn is very simple. Adding a handle and fixing it with brads and decorating them with beach clippings. Popcorn looks like sand in these buckets!

And of course use your Letterboard ! Nothing like a play on words to break the ice and use the pink Flamingo letters to accompany all the decoration.

And no party would be complete without goodie bags . You can make them with paper and tools or buy them already made and decorate them with stickers and cutouts.

I hope you liked the party as much as we did!
