TUTORIAL: MINI ALBUM EN CASCADA

TUTORIAL: CASCADE MINI ALBUM

Today we bring you a tutorial on how to make a mini cascading album that we prepare for a gift to a very special friend.

This type of structure is very showy and quick to do, so they can save you from some unexpected gift.

We don't roll up anymore and start!

In addition to your usual cut/paste tools, the materials we are going to use are:

WATERFALL MINI ALBUM TUTORIAL

- a decorated sheet of 30.5 x 30.5

- smooth cardboard

- block of small papers

- a brad

- some ribbon or string

In our case we have used the My Mind's Eye Gal Meets Glam collection that we love!!

We cut and fold the papers as follows:

- decorated sheet of 30.5 x 30.5

We cut it to 15 x 30.5 cm., and we mark folds at 15 and 15.5 cm. leaving a spine of 0.5 cm and where we will paste the structure of the waterfall.

When older, we will also cut a 2 x 17 cm strip, and mark 1 cm folds at both ends.

- smooth cardboard

We cut to 13 x 27 cm. and we mark folds at 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 cm.

This is the base of the cascading structure, it is very important to fold the marked folds well on both sides so that the cascade's mobility is perfect.

Once everything folded, it would look like the following photograph.

The shorter side and the folds are on top, and this is where we will glue the strip that we have cut from the 2 x 17 cm decorated paper to the end.

On the longest side is where we will place, with the help of the crop-a-dile or an awl, the brad and the loop to pull the cascade and slide it.

To finish, we glue it to the paper decorated by the 1 cm tabs of the 2 x 17 cm strip. that we pasted previously.

In this way the structure remains "free" and is what allows movement.

- block of small papers

We cut 6 papers to 8 x 13 cm and we will stick them as they appear in the following photos.

We glue the first one entirely to the cardboard and the following ones we add to the space left between the folds.

Be careful! Do not glue the paper too much on top of the folds, otherwise we will not be able to move the cascade well and it can get stuck.

Now you have to test if the structure has been correctly and slides pulling the loop out.

If everything has gone well, you will see how all the leaves move and create the "waterfall" effect.

And in the following photographs you can see a bit of the decoration inside.

This collection has a lot of very cool decorations and it was hard for us to choose, but we love the result!!
